Criminal Procedure Bill

The parliament on April 6, passed the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill, 2022. The Bill allows investigators to obtain certain information of the accused for the purpose of identification, which will enable a smooth investigation. Amit Shah said that the Bill will place the police two steps ahead of the criminals, and that nobody's privacy will be violated. The Bill will replace the existing Identification of Prisoners Act, 1920.
