Gujarat Cops Nab 2 For Siphoning 3 Lakh Litre Crude Oil From Pipeline
The Ahmedabad crime branch on February 11 nabbed a Bhavnagar resident Imran Yusuf recovering 24,860 litres of crude oil worth Rs 4.97 lakh. Reportedly, Imran stored 143 barrels of oil that he bought from another accused Ismail who stole by puncturing Salaya Mathura Pipeline (SMPL) project in Daskroi. Indians Pay 73% More For Petrol Despite Fall In Crude Oil Prices
As per reports, Indians are paying 73% more for petrol despite a fall in crude oil prices by 23% in the last 13 years. Currently, the prices of petrol in Delhi stands at an all-time high of Rs 87.60 per litre, which was Rs 50.62 in 2008. Auto industry expert Avik Chattopadhyay said, "This is an outcome of the following reasons....whenever other sources fail, fuel is taxed to cover-up".
