Utpal Parrikar, former Goa CM late Manohar Parrikar's son announced to contest from Panaji Assembly constituency as an independent candidate. On January 21, he addressed a press conference and said, he will resign from the BJP.  The developments came after the BJP left him in the first MLA candidate list and denied him Panaji ticket. Following the Karachi Sweets controversy, former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has stated about Karachi being under Indian Territory on November 21. Fadnavis said, "We believe in Akhand Bharat. We also believe that Karachi will be a part of India one day."
