UP: Woman Loses Life As Doctor Gets Distracted On Call

A 48-year-old accident victim in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun lost her life as the doctor treating her got allegedly busy on a call. Later, he got into a 20-minute argument with sub-inspector Sushil Panwar, who had brought her. A viral video of the argument has drawn criticism. “If the death is due to negligence, appropriate action will be taken against those responsible,” District Magistrate Kumar Prashant said.

AP: Guntur Collector Orders Doctor's Arrest for Questioning Over Bed Shortage

Senior Doctor Somulu Naik was arrested when he raised a concern regarding shortage of beds at primary health center, during a Covid-19 review meeting, after which the Guntur Collector Samuel Anand Kumar lost his cool. The Collector ordered the DSP to arrest him under Disaster Management Act, 2005. Doctor Naik who was detained after an argument with the district collector, was released after hours in the evening.
