A female cop in Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar was strangled to death with a belt by her husband after a domestic dispute on August 20. Identified as Banupriya, the policewoman was married to Vignesh, a conductor in Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), for six years. The couple, who had a daughter and a son, were arguing about Vignesh's decision to move to Madurai. An investigation into dowry harassment is underway.
