Ramdas Korde was arrested by Palghar Police for unfair treatment towards a tribal man, named Kalu Pawar. In November 2020, Pawar took Rs 500 from Korde to buy a sheet of cloth to perform the last rites of his son. In terms of repayment of the loan, Pawar was made to work in Korde’s fields and was beaten and assaulted when asked for wages. Unable to bear the torture, Pawar committed suicide.
