Gallantry Medals Awarded To 20 ITBP Personnel For Bravery

The Indian government has awarded gallantry medals to 20 India-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel for bravery who fought China's People's Liberation Army (PLA). Indians and Chinese troops reached a standoff in Eastern Ladakh's Galwan Valley in 2020. "This is the highest number of gallantry medals awarded for the bravery of its men in border face-offs, skirmishes, and border guarding duties", ITBP spokesperson Vivek Kumar Pandey said.
