Jharkhand HC Will Moniter Dhanbad Judge's Alleged Murder: SC

The Supreme Court of India has asked the Jharkhand High Court to regulate the probe in connection with the Dhanbad judge's alleged murder on August 9. The SC ordered the CBI to report the weekly status to the HC. CBI took over the investigation of the case after CM Hemant Soren's consent. Reportedly, the judge was hit by an auto while jogging on July 28.

CCB Detains Ex-HC Judge Karnan For Defamatory Remarks

Retired Madras and Calcutta High Courts Judge CS Karnan has been detained on December 2 by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Chennai. Reportedly, Karnan was arrested for the defamatory remarks that he had made against the women and judges of the Supreme Court in the past. However, he has refused the charges. Earlier, he had been interrogated by the CCB on November 26 regarding the charges.

Former HC Judge CS Karnan Booked For Controversial Remarks Against Judges

Former High Court judge CS Karnan was booked by the Chennai Police under Section 153 and 509 on October 27. Earlier, he had accused that Supreme Court and High Court judges had "sexually assaulted women court staff and women judges". Reportedly, a senior advocate wrote to Chief Justice of India stating that Karnan's remarks "amount to a horrific act of violence and an affront to the dignity of all women".
