President Kovind To Arrive At Kanpur On 2-day Visit
President Ram Nath Kovind is set to arrive at Kanpur on his two-day visit starting from November 24. On the first day of the visit, Mr. Kovind is scheduled to attend programmes at Chaudhary Harmohan Singh Para Medical Institute. Reportedly, he will also visit Circuit House on the same day. The president will also attend the centenary year celebration at HBTU on the next day before his return to Delhi.

JP Nadda To Visit Kanpur Next Week To Kick Off BJP's Poll Campaign
Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly election, the National President of BJP, JP Nadda is set to visit Kanpur next week to kick off the party's poll campaign for 52 seats in the Kanpur-Bundelkhand region. Mr. Nadda will reportedly address 22,143 booth presidents of all 52 seats on November 23. He is also expected to inaugurate the party's new regional office in Kanpur's Naubasta Old Maurang Mandi.

Zika Virus Tally Reaches 123 In UP's Kanpur, 96 Cases Are Active
Zika virus cases have reportedly reached 123 so far and 93 are said to be active in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Recently, Kannauj reported one case and Lucknow reported three cases. Kanpur reported its first case, on October 23. Reportedly, the virus spreads from Aedes Mosquito. Once infected, the symptoms are mild fever, rashes, conjunctivitis, muscle, and joint pain.

Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur Reports 10 Cases Of Zika Virus
Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district reported 10 cases of Zika virus, the government said on November 1. Reportedly, the new cases were detected following the surveillance and testing were ramped up when the state reported its first case of the virus in October. The disease spread through infected mosquitoes. Notably, CM Yogi Adityanath already ordered the health officials to conduct door-to-door sanitisation and fogging drives.

First Zika Virus Case Detected In Uttar Pradesh: Kanpur
Dr. Nepal Singh, Kanpur's Chief-Medical-Officer, said on October 24 that the first case of Zika-virus has been detected in Kanpur. Reportedly, the patient is an Indian Air Force officer. Kanpur's 28-Year-Old Youth Teaches 200 Kids Free Of Cost
Nitin Kumar, a 28-year-old son of a domestic helper in Kanpur has been teaching 200 underprivileged students like him for free since 2007. Kumar says he took this initiative as he understands the difficulty of not having a mentor and money for education. He runs Ek Nayee Rahh Foundation, an NGO that has initiated "ghat waala school". In return, he only asks his students to teach their subordinate students.

Kanpur Man Assaulted, Forcefully Made To Chant 'Jai Shri Ram'
Afsar Ahmad, an e-rickshaw driver in Kanpur, was assaulted on August 11 by some Hindu extremists forcing him to chant "Jai Shri Ram" while his five-year-old daughter cried and pleaded to set him free. The men were seen wearing saffron scarves accusing Ahmad of raising anti-national slogans while he repeatedly denied it. Fortunately, the police rescued the duo to a police station. Three people have been arrested hitherto.

UP's Kanpur Registers World's First Case Of 'Optic Neuritis'
The world’s first patient of 'Optic Neuritis' from black fungus is found in UP's Kanpur. Ashish, a 30-year-old was suffering from it since the last 15 days, and is admitted to 'Hallett Hospital'. Asked about effects, the doctors said the nerves of the eyes become inflamed due to which it may stop sending messages to brain or occur in lost vision. Besides the treatment, a research has also been initiated.

Kanpur Man Married To Transgender, Accuses In-Laws Of Cheating
A resident of Shastri Nagar in Kanpur has logged an FIR under Section 420 of IPC against his wife and in-laws. Reportedly, both of them had married on April 28, however, she was refusing to establish a physical relationship for a long-time. Finally, the man took his wife to a "gynecologist" who confirmed her to be a "transgender''. Besides, the Investigations are underway, said the police.
