Nerve Damage During Long COVID Due To Immune Dysfunction, Claims Study

As per a study, the nerve damage in patients was likely a result of immune dysfunction triggered by the COVID-19 virus. In addition, long COVID affects the small nerve fibers in the skin. Notably, The researchers kept a tab on symptoms, clinical examinations, objective neurodiagnostic test results, and outcomes for each participant around 1.4 years. Notably, COVID-19 has serious post recovery issues, especially people with comorbities.

Teenagers Face Post-COVID 19 Symptoms 'Long COVID Condition'

Several teenagers have complained of long COVID conditions such as fatigue, malaise, shortness of breath, or a rapid heart rate that flares up a few weeks after they suffer from COVID-19. "Long COVID doesn't appear to be as common in kids as it is in adults," says Dr. Sean O'Leary, vice-chair of AAPCID. However, the researchers & pediatricians believe that there is an immense need for research over post-COVID conditions.
