World number one Novak Djokovic has been knocked out from the Vienna Open after Italy's Lorenzo Sonego defeated him by 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinals on October 30. The 42-ranked Italian, who entered the main draw as a lucky loser, broke the top seed five times for the biggest win of his career. With this defeat, Djokovic's year-end world number one spot for a record-equalling sixth time has been stalled.
