Former Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced retirement from international cricket on this day, two years ago. It is to be noted that star cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from the international form of cricket.  In 2020, MS Dhoni stunned the cricketing world by announcing his retirement, on August 15, 2020. "Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. From 1929 hrs consider me as Retired."

Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni receives birthday wishes from fans and cricket fraternity on July 7.  The former Indian skipper, who retired from international cricket is still an idol of many people, ruling cricket field in India. Highlighting the cricket journey of 41-year-old MS Dhoni, he led the Indian team to win 2007 Men's T20 World Cup, 2011 Men's Cricket World Cup in ODIs and 2013 Champions Trophy.

Cricketer MS Dhoni is all set to become the second-ever skipper in the T-20 history to score six thousand runs or more. He would only be second to batter Virat Kohli. Dhoni presently has 5994 runs scored in 301 matches, while the latter has 6451 runs in 190 matches. Meanwhile, cricketer Rohit Sharma has managed to score 4721 runs so far.

IPL team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) became the first sports unicorn in India. The team shares owned by the CSK Cricket Limited, capped Rs 7,600 crore, more than parent entity. The major reasons behind the achievement is the recent win of CSK in IPL 14th edition and addition of CSK in the 15th edition at price record. Notably, MS Dhoni led CSK won 4th IPL title in Dubai. 

After India's two consecutive defeats in the T20 World Cup, the team's hopes of reaching the semi-finals almost ended. Bumrah has blamed the bubble for what is the reason for India's poor performance. India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah said that "bubble fatigue" is a bitter reality of the present times.  India lost to New Zealand by eight wickets and to Pakistan by 10 wickets, so far.
