The awaited 16th season of the IPL is set to kickstart in a grand opening ceremony. On March 24, the BCCI announced about the inside information about the spectacular event, scheduled to be held on March 31, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This year it will be home-and-away’ format after the pandemic this year with the 10 teams divided into two groups for the 70 league fixtures.

Indian cricket coach Rahul Dravid spoke about IPL and WTC clash and likely challenges of Team India. On March 13, Dravid said, "laying the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia within one week of the IPL's conclusion is going to be a huge challenge. He said, "We just qualified at lunchtime today. I wasn't counting my chickens before they hatched. We'll celebrate this for starters," 

Former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly predicted the result of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy, in matches between India V/S Australia. On February 25, Ganguly said, "I see 4-0. It will be hard for Australia to beat India. In these conditions, we are a far superior team." Notably, India is leading in the Test Match, with 2-0, and is expected to maintain the same, winning the trophy for India.

Influencer Sapna Gill who has been arrested in a case of an alleged attack on cricketer Prithvi Shaw's car was produced before the Andheri court. On February 17, the court sent Gill to police custody till February 20. Meanwhile, Sapna's lawyer said, "Sapna is an influencer, after 15 hours Prithvi Shaw gets the complaint done through his friend in the police..why it was not done on the same day?"

A Delhi court issued a warrant against Alex Mario Ambrose, the ex-coach of the Indian Women's Football U-17 team. The warrant has been issued for allegedly abusing a player in June 2022, under the POCSO Act. When the team was in Norway, Alex allegedly sexually abused a minor player and was suspended for misconduct. The Dwarka Session court issued the warrant and adjourned the matter to February 25.
