ED Conducts Raid At Anil Deshmukh's Residence Under Corruption Charges

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a search operation at the property of Former Minister Anil Deshmukh in Nagpur and Mumbai, related to a money laundering case on June 25. The raid has been carried out under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act for exploitation of officers and corruption. Earlier in May, a criminal case was filed against him and his group by ED after investigating a current CBI FIR.

Maine Pyar Kiya Fame Music Composer Raam Laxman Passes Away At 78

Well-known music director Raam Laxman passed away on May 22 due to a cardiac arrest at his residence in Nagpur. The 78-year-old composer, whose real name was Vijay Patil, was popularly known for his work with Rajashri Productions’ movies like Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Maine Pyar Kiya. Reportedly, the veteran composer had taken the Covishield, COVID-19 vaccine six days ago.

Posing As Doctor, Fruit Seller Arrested For Treating COVID-19 Patients

The Maharashtra Police in Nagpur district have nabbed a fruit seller for posing as a doctor and treating COVID-19 patients. Reportedly, the accused, Chandan Naresh Chaudhary, ran an Ayurvedic dispensary for the past five years and when the cases rose, he started treating COVID-19 patients. Booking the accused under the Maharashtra Practitioners Act, the police seized medical equipment including oxygen cylinders from his clinic.

Nagpur Police Nabs Two For Selling Water In Remdesivir Vials

Maharashtra’s Nagpur police have arrested two X-ray technicians for allegedly selling water in Remdesivir vials. The technicians, Abhilash Petkar and Aniket Namdeshwar quoted Rs 40,000 for the doses and later agreed for Rs 28,000 to an attendee, whose patient was admitted. The attendee, on suspicion approached the police which then uncovered the scam. The police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.

Maha: Cops Face Inquiry For Forcibly Arranging Oxygen To Hospital

Fire At Nagpur Private Hospital Kills 4, Injures Some Others

A fire outbreak in Nagpur's private hospital has killed four people, injuring some others on April 9. Reportedly, the fire broke out on the second floor of the hospital around 8:10 PM from an air conditioner unit in the ICU. Fire extinguishing teams rescued four patients from the burning floor while six managed to escape themselves. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his grief over the tragic accident.

Maharashtra: Three Tigers, Tigress Dead In Past Eight Days

Three tigers have been reported dead in different divisions of Nagpur in the past eight days. While two big cats were found dead on consecutive days, the recent death was reported on March 21, where the tigress was found dead in a water canal. The locals have predicted the tiger falling into the canal and dying due to drowning. Shockingly, 11 tigers have been reported dead in Maharashtra since January 1, 2021.

COVID Blues: Nagpur Under Lockdown From March 15 Till 21

Maharashtra government has announced a complete lockdown in Nagpur from March 15 to March 21, owing to a steep surge in the COVID-19 cases. The essential services, including medical shops and grocery shops, will continue their services.
