Ahead of the Budget Session speech, on February 1, at 11 am, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has arrived at the Finance Ministry. After Finance Minister MoS Finance Pankaj Chaudhary and Bhagwat Karad have also arrived. Moreover,  the Union Budget Session 2022 started from January 31, with President Ram Nath Kovind's speech. Divided in phases, the first part of the budget session is from January 31 to February 11. 

Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman will address a press conference at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, January 18. She is more likely to brief about an ''important economic issue''. She might reaffirm the current conflict of Antrix Corporations and Devas Multimedia, along with implications posed by order of the Supreme Court, suggested reports. The Minister is all set to present the Union Budget 2022, on February 1.

Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union FM, on December 22, concluded the 2022-2023 pre-budget meeting. The meeting started from December 15 to 22, witnessed stake holders, business experts, agriculture sector people and over 120 invitees. While answering a question at Harvard Kennedy School, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on October 13 said the Lakhimpur violence, where the farmers were killed, is ''absolutely condemnable''. Reportedly, she was asked why Prime Minister doesn't give his reaction on the incident. However, she stated that similar problems occur in other parts of India so questions should also be raised there without any political agenda.

Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Finance Minister, referred to vaccination as "medicine to boost the economy." At the Centenary celebration of Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank, she said, "about 73 crore people have been jabbed in India". She added, government investment in the expansion of hospital facilities through a viability gap funding scheme, is likely to strengthen India's efforts against a probable third wave of Covid.
