Punjab HC Grants Pension Right To 80-Year-Old Revolutionist's Widow

After a long legal battle, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted pension rights to a 80-year-old widow of freedom fighter late Sultan Singh. Approved for pension in 1990 by the Centre, Kaur’s claim was declined in 2017 by the Haryana government. Reportedly, Kaur’s husband’s Reg/corps where he worked as a gunner later joined the Indian National Army in 1942 after which they were deployed to defend refinery at Sumatra.
