Jawan, which released in theatres on Thursday, has already minted ₹200 crore at the domestic box office. Since the release, the film is making rounds and has become the first film of the Indian cinema, to opne at ₹75 crores. In two days the film witnessed a 39.96% jump, minting over ₹74 crore. Helmed by Atlee, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles.

Ahead of Jawan's release, controversy erupted as Shah Rukh Khan visited the Tirupati Temple, in Andhra Pradesh. Following the recent trend of Bollywood fraternity visiting Lord Venkateshwara temple, SRK also sought blessing. Acting upon it, Red Chillies Entertainment has filed a case against an unidentified individual for alleged theft under the Information Technology Act. The case was lodged at Santacruz police station on August 10. As per the FIR, someone stole clips from the 'Jawan' movie and shared them on Twitter, thereby violating copyright. The probe is underway.
