34-Year-Old Tribal Woman Killed by her Nephew: Idukki
A 34-year-old woman from Idukki was reportedly shot dead by her nephew who was livid, believing that she tipped off the forest officials and the police about his smuggling activities. Chandrika, who hailed from Palappetty, a tribal hamlet in Marayoor, was murdered on August 21. Two men and a 19-year-old have been taken into police custody. The accused was earlier arrested by the Forest Department for sandalwood-smuggling.

UP: Man Shoots His Mother-in-law; Woman in Critical Condition
Muzaffarnagar Police in Uttar Pradesh on August 18 said that a man allegedly shot his mother-in-law, causing critical injuries to her. The victim was rushed to the district hospital, said police. As per the police, an FIR has been registered against the accused, Rahul; however, he is still on the run. The police further informed that Rahul's wife, Neha, was living with her parents due to family issues.
