Avinash Sable Places 11th In 3000m Steeplechase Final At World Athletics Championships 2022
Avinash Sable of India placed 11th in the final of the men's 3000m steeplechase event on the fourth day of competition at the World Athletics Championships. The 27-year-old Sable ran 8:31.75, much below his season and personal best of 8:12.48, a national record. He had placed third in heat number three and seventh overall (8:18.75) to qualify for the final.

Murali Sreeshankar Places 7th In Long Jump At World Athletics Championships 2022
Murali Sreeshankar, an Indian long jumper, placed seventh in the World Athletics Championships 2022 on July 17 with a best leap of 7.96 metres. Parul Chaudhary, who competed in the women's 3000m steeplechase, placed 12th out of 14 participants in her heat but did not advance to the final. The 26-year-old MP Jabir finished last in his heat in the men's 400m hurdles and was unable to proceed.

Avinash Sable Becomes First Indian To Complete Half Marathon Under 61 Mins
Steeplechase runner Avinash Sable has set a new national record by finishing the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon in 1 hour and 30 seconds. The Tokyo Olympics bound has won gold among Indian elite runners and became the first Indian to run a half marathon under sixty-one minutes. Ethiopian Amedework Walelegn had won the men's elite race in 58:53 minutes. Earlier, the event was inaugurated by Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju.
