Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister R.Doraikannu succumbed to COVID-19 at a private hospital in Chennai on October 31. Tamil Nadu Government Provides More Relaxations Under Unlock 6

Crane Hits 105-year-old Pamban Railway Bridge; Train Services Halted
Train services were short terminated between Rameswaram and Mandapam stations on October 30 after a crane used for the construction of a new railway bridge hit the existing 105-year-old Pamban bridge. Reportedly, heavy winds and rough sea caused the two floating cranes to hit the bridge. Later, the cranes were towed away and the passengers on the train were transported in buses. Officials informed that there were no major damages.

Tamilnadu: Oncologist Denies Harassment Accusations After Appointed on AIIMS Madurai Board

Tamil Nadu CM Promises Free COVID-19 Vaccination In State
Following the BJP's manifesto for Bihar elections that promised free COVID-19 vaccine, Tamil Nadu government has echoed the same pledge for its population. Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K Palaniswami on October 22 said, "Once the COVID-19 vaccine is ready, it will be provided to all people of the state free of cost." Currently, Tamil Nadu stands as the fourth most coronavirus-affected state in the country with 6,97,116 confirmed cases.

Tamil Nadu Govt Provides Rs 10 Crore Financial Aid To Flood-hit Telangana
Tamil Nadu government on October 19 announced an immediate financial assistance of Rs 10 crore from the CM relief fund to the flood-hit Telangana. Expert Committee says, Tamil Nadu's Economy Can be Recovered Within two months
The former Reserve Bank Governor, C. Rangarajan led high-level committee, reported that the economy of Tamil Nadu might recover within a few months. However, to achieve it, the state must create more jobs. The committee advised the state to extend rural employment programs to urban areas, amidst pandemic. The report also suggested spending another ₹5000 crores in the health care sector, as there is a huge demand.
