Tokyo Olympics: Ravi Kumar Dahiya Bags Silver In Men's Freestyle Wrestling
Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya bagged a silver for India in Men's Freestyle Wrestling 57 Kg, after losing to Russian wrestler Zavur Uguev by 4-7. This 23- Year old had defeated Nurislam Sanayev of Kazakhstan to reach the finals and also defeated Georgi Vangelov in quarters. Reportedly, this is the second silver and fifth medal for India at Tokyo Olympics after KD Jadhav, Sakshi Malik, Sushil Kumar, and Yogeshwar Dutt.

Adidas Aims Higher Growth Despite Sales Drop In China
Adidas has set high hopes for the fiscal year 2021, expecting a profit of 20% despite a boycott of Adidas products in China. The company places its confidence in the launch of NMD sneakers, the Tokyo Olympics, and Club Soccer in Europe. Reportedly, western brands including Adidas have faced backlash in China after "refusing to take source cotton from Xinjiang over alleged human rights violations".

Tokyo Olympics: Vinesh Phogat Loses In Women's Wrestling
Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s loss to Belarus' Vanesa Kaladzinskaya in the women’s 53kg quarter-final ended her journey on acquiring gold at Tokyo Olympics. Despite her efforts, the 26-year-old could not escape Kaladzinskaya’s headlock. Vinesh’s popular double-leg attack did not fetch any points in this game. Besides, Vinesh’s only possibility to win a medal will be if she qualifies for repechage rounds.

Tokyo Olympics: 'Chak De India' All Over As India Wins Historic Bronze In Hockey
India sealed a 5-4 win against Germany in the men's hockey clinching a bronze medal at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics on August 5. Simranjeet Singh scored two goals for India at the Oi Hockey Stadium, along with Hardik Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, and Rupinder Pal Singh also adding their names on the scoresheet. The win also helped the Indian men's hockey team end their 41-year medal wait at the Olympics.

President Ram Nath Kovind praised Lovolina Borgohain for clinching bronze in the women's welterweight category (64-69Kg) on August 4 at Tokyo Olympics. He posted on Twitter saying, "Congratulations to Lovolina Borgohain! With your hard work and dogged determination, you have done the nation proud. This will be inspiring to many young women". Borgohain won bronze after being defeated by Turkey's Buzenas Surmeneli at the Olympics.

Tokyo Olympics: Boxer Lovlina Borgohain Clinches Bronze In Semi-Finals
Lovlina Borgohain of India clinched bronze after dropping a unanimous decision to top seed Busenaz Surmeneli of Turkey in the Women's welterweight semi-finals on August 4. Borgohain was defeated 0:5 in the first round and was outthrown by Surmeneli in the final round. After Vijender Singh and Mary Kom, Borgohain is the third Indian boxer to have won an Olympic medal in boxing.

India V/s Germany: Men's Hockey Tournament For Bronze Medal At Tokyo Olympics
India men’s hockey team will challenge Germany on August 5 for the Bronze medal match after Germany was defeated by Australia by 3-1. Australian player Tim Brand scored a goal within seven minutes of the match. Although Germany made use of the penalty corner when Lukas Windfeder scored a goal, however, it was not enough to defeat Australia. Australia will be playing against Belgium for the gold medal on August 5.

Andhra Govt To Award Rs 30 Lakh To PV Sindhu
A sum of Rs 30 lakh will be awarded to Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Indian shuttler PV Sindhu by the CM of Andhra Pradesh Jagan Mohan Reddy. According to the State Sports Policy, a bronze medallist is authorised to get Rs 30 lakhs in reward. The Andhra government has also permitted 2 acres of land for setting up Badminton Academy in Visakhapatnam.
