The Madhya Pradesh police, which arrested the accused in the shocking Ujjain Rape Case, said they took an extraordinary effort to crack the case. They interrogated hundreds of people and scanned footage from over 700 CCTV cameras before they found links to the main accused Bharat Soni--an auto driver who allegedly picked up the 15-year-old survivor from the Ujjain railway station, raped her, and left her half-naked and bleeding.

Ujjain Rape Case: Auto Driver Shot By Police While Trying To Escape
In the Ujjain Rape Case, the police arrested an auto-driver, and five others, suspected to be accused. In the latest development, the police shot down the auto-driver, while he was attempting to flee. On September 29, police took the auto-driver, identified as Bharat Soni on spot for inspection, when he tried to escape, leading to an encounter. Soni has been taken to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, investigation is underway.
