USPC Announces Prelims Results 2020
The Union Public Service Commission declared the results of UPSC Prelims Exam on October 23. All selected candidates will further have to apply for Civil Services (Main) Examination between October 28 to November 11, 2020. The main exam is scheduled to be held on January 8, 2021. The candidates can check the results on the commission's website, the Prelims exam was held earlier on October 4.

UPSC Holds CSE Prelims Successfully Amid COVID-19 Protocol
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on October 4 held the prelims for Civil Service Examination (CSE) 2020. With over 10.58 lakh candidates, the exams were held across 72 centers and 2500 sub-centers owing to the pandemic. The UPSC has put a COVID-19 protocol in place for the safe conduct of examinations. The prelims-qualified candidates will advance to CSE Mains examination, which are scheduled from January 8, 2021.

UPSC Prelims Examination to Be Held on October 4; SC Rejects Plea to Postpone
The Supreme Court, on September 30, refused to postpone the UPSC Prelims Examination, scheduled for October 4. The Court, however directed the Centre to decide at the earliest, if there could be any relaxations for candidates who are giving their last attempt and age-bar candidates who cannot apply for exams next year. SC also instructed to allow inter-state travel for the candidates and directed UPSC to follow all the COVID-related SOPs.

Supreme Court Holds Broadcast of 'UPSC Jihad' on Sudarshan TV
The Supreme Court ordered Sudarshan TV to stop broadcasting the 'UPSC Jihad' show. The bench felt that the show tried to impose derogatory remarks on a particular community. The bench said that people do watch news channels these days. However, the channel claimed it was an investigative journalistic piece. The bench, led by Justices D Y Chandrachud, further mentioned, "India is a melting pot of civilisations, cultures, and values."

UPSC Conducts NDA Entrance Exams, Special Trains used for Students' Commute
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted the National Defense Academy (NDA) entrance exams on September 6. The examination was initially scheduled to take place on April 19, but was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Both the NDA 1 and 2 examinations were held on the same day. According to Abhishek Kumar, Assistant Commercial Manager, Moradabad, three trains carried candidates appearing for the NDA examination.
