Third Wave Unlikely; COVID-19 To Become Endemic: AIIMS Chief
AIIMS New Delhi Chief Randeep Guleria on November 23 said India isn't expected to see the third wave of COVID-19. He added that we should continue administering vaccines to more and more people and ''as of now we really don't need a booster dose''. Furthermore, Dr. Guleria said COVID-19 would become endemic like swine flu (N1N1). It'll affect only those who have weak immunity and are vulnerable to diseases.

Australia Annonuces To Recongnise Covaxin As COVID-19 Vaccine
In a major boost to Bharat Biotech, Australia on November 1 announced that it's added the company's Covaxin to the list of approved COVID-19 vaccines in the country. The decision was announced by Australia's High Commissioner to India Barry O'Farrell on Twitter. Reportedly, the decision will help many who've received Covaxin and wants to travel to Australia. The country already recognises the Covishield Vaccine of AstraZeneca India.

Apollo To Administer Free Vaccine To Children With 'Specified Co-Morbidities'

India Starts Export of COVID-19 Vaccine, Supplies 4 Countries
Under the ''Vaccine Maitri'' initiative, India started the export of vaccine doses to Myanmar, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Iran, media reports said on October 10. Repotedly, India sent 10 lakh doses of Covidsheild to Myanmar, Nepal, and Bangladesh. While Iran will receive three lakh doses of Covaxin. The initiative will also help India to fulfill its commitment towards COVAX to supply vaccine to poor countries.

US To Allow Foreign Visitors Vaccinated By WHO-Approved Vaccines
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on October 8 confirmed that the United States would allow all international visitors who were vaccinated by the WHO or U.S. regulators' authorised COVID-19 vaccines. The US is set to open its borders in November for 33 countries including India, China, and Brazil. The CDC said, ''It'll release additional guidance as the travel requirements are finalized.''

COVID-19 Vaccine For Kids To Come By Dec: K'taka Health Minister
Speaking about the COVID vaccine for Children, Karnataka's Health Minister K. Sudhakar on October 3 said the vaccine in the form of nasal drops for children is excepted to be made available in the state by December. The price of the vaccine has been negotiating by the central government with the vaccine manufacturer Zydus Cadila, Sudhakar added. Besides, he said the state government was planning to administer booster shots.

WhatsApp Allows Users To Locate Vaccination Centres & Book Slots
To assist its users, WhatsApp on August 23 decided to allow its users to find vaccination centres and book vaccine slots under the "MyGov Corona Helpdesk" on its platform. A WhatsApp number "+91 9013151515" has also been issued to connect with the chatbot. Users can now book the slots by typing "Book Slot" and sending it to the number. Moreover, the chatbot allows everyone to download vaccine certificates at ease.

Johnson & Johnson Seeks Approval For Single-Dose Vaccine Launch
US-based pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson (J&J) to likely launch a single-dose vaccine against COVID-19 for emergency use in India. Reportedly, the government is yet to approve the proposal. The company also said they aim to launch the vaccine in collaboration with Hyderabad-based Biological E Limited. Notably, the vaccine's phase three clinical trial shows an efficiency of 85% against the Covid-19 strain.

India Has Administered 489 Mn Vaccine Doses Out Of 618.5 Mn: WHO
India has administered 489 million vaccines doses out of 618.5 million doses so far in the South-East Asia Region, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO) report.
