UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for for rapid and unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza and for the release of hostages kept by Hamas. "In this dramatic moment, as we are on the verge of the abyss in the Middle East, it is my duty as Secretary-General of the United Nations to make two strong humanitarian appeals." He further said, "They should not become bargaining chips."

After the attack by Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas in Israel, war has broken out there. In such a situation, citizens of other countries present there are leaving from there to save their lives. Actress Nushrat Bharucha had also gone to Israel to participate in an event, but after the war started on Saturday, she got stuck there.But she got recused by Indian embassy and now safely returned to India.

Concerned over the escalation of hostilities in Ukraine, India advised its citizens to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine. On October 10, the Government of India asked them to strictly follow the safety and security guidelines issued by the local authorities. The advisory comes hours after Russia carried out strikes against multiple Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, which killed 10 people and left 60 others injured.
