Indian Army's ASC Motorcycle Display Team 'Tornadoes' broke a record that was held earlier by the South Africans. The stunt team's biker, Captain Shivam Singh travelled the longest fire tunnel of 127 metres in Bangalore to break the record previously held by two proteas - Enrico Schoeman and Andre de Kock. SP Shankar, a nine-year-old Hyderabad native has bagged two international records for solving the most number of Pyraminx while hanging upside down and while skating. According to his mother, Divya Mangala, Shankar has been solving the puzzles since he was six and has won a national award for Rubik's cube as well. The Kenyan long-distance runner Peres Jepchirchir won gold at the World Athletics half marathon championship to beat her own women's half marathon world record. The 27-year-old had set the new record timing of one hour, five minutes, and 16 seconds, which is 18 seconds lesser from the previous record set by her in Prague this September. The marathon took place at a four-lap course in Gdynia, Poland.
