Telangana IT and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao demanded a grant of Rs 19,000 crore from the Modi-led Central Government, for state's Mission Bhagirathi. On September 29, KTR took to Twitter and expressed happiness, after Telangana Rashtra Samithi's Mission Bhagirathi, which provides free drinking water to rural India, won NITI Aayog's national award for their mission. With this recognition, KTR sought funds to expand the mission.

On the occasion of Teachers’ Day on September 5, PM Modi is scheduled to interact with a group of teachers from across the country, at his residence. Reportedly, the interaction will come after 45 of them will be awarded by President Droupadi Murmu at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan. Of the 45 awardees, two from Uttarakhand and Andaman and Nicobar Islands will be awarded under a special category for differently-baked teachers.

Soldiers of the Indian Army's Western Command Unit was honoured at the Investiture Ceremony held at Mamun Military station at Pathankot in Punjab, on March 4. The ceremony was organised by Gurj Division of the Western Command. The awardees were felicitated for their immense bravery and duty towards the nation. About 24 units of the Indian Army were also awarded for their gallantry.

Firoz Khan, an assistant teacher at a government primary school in UP wins a national award for innovation in education using 'Information Communication Technology.' The 37-year-old teacher said, "there were just 150 students in 2007. In 13 years, the strength increased to 800. That’s because I started using technology in the classroom to make learning fun." Tamil film director and National-Award winner SP Jananathan breathed his last on March 14. Reportedly, the 61-year-old was found unconscious at his home on March 11, following which he was declared dead by doctors. Touted as an adaptation of the book 'Reporter ki Diary' penned by journalist Sanjay Singh, the second season will feature Abdul Karim Telgi's stamp paper scam of 2003.
