India Gifts 1.5 Lakh Serum Institute's 'Covishield' Vaccines To Bhutan
Strengthening India-Bhutan relationships, the Centre on January 20 dispatched 1.5 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine to Bhutan. Interestingly, Bhutan became the first foreign country to receive the vaccines developed by the Serum Institute of India. Earlier, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, India has supplied medicines, medicinal equipment and essential commodities to Bhutan. Besides, India also repatriated over 2,000 Bhutanese nationals during the lockdown and has also arranged air travel arrangements with Bhutan.
