Kurnool Airport In Andhra Named After Freedom Fighter Uyyalawada Reddy
The Andhra Pradesh government has renamed the Kurnool Airport, inaugurated at Orvakal on March 25, after freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. A native of Kurnool, the freedom fighter had protested against the British rule 100 years before the independence. Inaugurated by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, the airport has a five-storeyed Air Traffic Control building and passengers lounge. Notably, the government had spent Rs 110 crore for the completion of the sixth airport in the state.
