No Vaccine Shortage, 43 Million Doses Stocked: Health Min Harsh Vardhan
Discarding the claims of COVID-19 vaccine shortage, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on April 8 clarified that India has 43 million vaccine doses, either stocked or in supply pipeline. The clarification came days after several states, including Maharashtra, Odisha, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan, claimed of vaccine shortage and likelihood of closure of vaccination centres. Calling for “an end to fear mongering", the minister said, "There is no vaccine shortage".
