Knight Riders Break 4-Match Losing Streak As They Beat Punjab Kings
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Punjab Kings by five wickets in a low scoring game in the IPL 2021 on April 26 at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. Invited to bat first, Punjab Kings managed to put a very small total of 123 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs. Opener Mayank Agarwal scored the most (31 runs) for the Kings, followed by the quickfire knock of 18-ball 30-run by Chris Jordan. Chasing the 124-run target, The Knight Riders also suffered early losses and their start seemed extremely shaky. However, a match-winning partnership between KKR skipper Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi sealed the game for the team in just 16.4 overs at the loss of five wickets. Morgan scored unbeaten 47 while Tripathi logged 41 runs. With this, the Knight Riders ended up their four-match losing streak and have jumped to the 5th spot at the point's table. Punjab Kings is standing at the 6th position.
