Economist Dreze Writes To Jharkhand CM, Draws Attention About Education System

Economist Jean Dreze wrote a letter to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, regarding the state's deteriorating condition of elementary education. ''Jharkhand has the world record for longest continuous closure of primary schools for almost two years'', Dreze wrote. The Tribal children have lost the ability to read a simple sentence due to the closure of schools, he further stated. The economist suggested planning for a “massive literacy” campaign for the state.
