5 Automakers Announce Their Closure In India In Last 5 Years
The Centre on February 9 apprised that five major automobile companies have halted their operations in India in the last five years. The companies include MAN Trucks, General Motors, Harley Davidson, UM Motorcycles and Honda Cars. Reportedly, the companies announced closure by 2020 end, shutting down some of their manufacturing plants in states like Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. However, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar affirmed that the closure was not linked with red-tapism or high taxes.
