Becky Hammon Becomes First Woman Head Coach In NBA
The National Basketball Association on December 30 got its first woman head coach in Becky Hammon for the San Antonio Spurs. Initially an assistant coach, Hammon filled in for Gregg Popovich who was ejected for arguing with the referee during the match against Los Angeles Lakers. Hammon is a six-time All-Star in the Women's NBA and is associated with the Spurs for 13 years. Despite suffering a 121-107 loss, she called it a "substantial moment".
