Nintendo Lowers Sales For 'Switch' Due To Chip Shortage
Nintendo Cooperation Ltd, based in Japan, announced on November 5 that a global chip scarcity has hampered hardware development, forcing the company to lower sales projections for its popular Switch device. The company is highly dependent on its console revenue, while rivals such as Microsoft are growing through membership and cloud-gaming services. "We are looking at substituting components and tweaking designs to try and reduce the impact," an executive said.
