Central Teams To Assist 6 States Prone To Highest Covid-19 Cases

US Health Institute: Covaxin 'Effectively Neutralizes' Delta Variant

Both Alpha and Delta forms of Coronavirus can be neutralized by India's Covaxin, developed by Bharat Biotech in association with the ICMR, said US National Institute of Health (NIH). As per NIH, two blood serum test results from patients who received the Covaxin show that the vaccine produces antibodies that neutralize the B.1.1.7 (Alpha) and B.1.617 (Delta) forms of SARS-CoV-2, which were first located in the UK and India, respectively.

Third Wave Likely To Hit India In 6 To 8 Weeks, Says AIIMS Chief

The COVID-19 third wave in India is inevitable and might hit in the next six to eight weeks according to AIIMS Chief, Dr Randeep Guleria. The unlock and the lack of COVID appropriate behaviour among people have caused a major concern including the newly emerged Delta-Plus variant. Vaccination of people is a major challenge in the country along with proper surveillance, he added.
