70th Miss Universe

Making India proud, Harnaaz Sandhu won the crown of the 70th Miss Universe on December 13. The competition was held in Israel's Eilat. She brought the title home after Lara Dutta who won it in 2000. Reportedly, Sandhu defeated Paraguay and South Africa to secure her win. The 21-year-old Haranaaz belongs to Chandigarh. Earlier, India's Sushmita Sen became the first Miss Universe from the country in 1994.
