Zahoor Mistry, who was associated with the terror outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad and was involved in the1999 hijacking of Indian plane IC-814. reportedly been murdered in Pakistan’s Karachi. On March 1, two bike-borne assailants killed Zahoor at his residence. The two assailants were caught in the CCTV and are yet to be identified. However, Pakistani intelligence agency ISI was also caught off guard by the attack. 

PM Narendra Modi asked the Indian Air Force (IAF) to join 'Operation Ganga' to evacuate Indian nationals in Ukraine, amid the ongoing invasion. Modi, on March 1, said, the IAF's aircraft would be more efficient evacuating more people in a short time. Furthermore, the IAF is to send C-17 aircrafts to rescue Indians, from March 1. Meanwhile, Air Indian flights are operating special flights to bring Indians back safely.

Students who returned from Ukraine on February 27, amid the ongoing Ukraine-Russia crisis, thanked the Indian Government for the special arrangements of Air India flights for their evacuation. After returning to Mumbai, the students said, "we are proud of the Indian Government". Moreover, the Union Minister Piyush Goyal, welcomed the first Indian batch of evacuated students and assured to bring back all from Ukraine to India, safely.

Amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis, Air India will start evacuation flights to countries bordering Ukraine for stranded Indians. Air India will operate four flights in which two will be sent to Romania, one to Hungary, and another is on its way. "The government of India is completely seized with the matter. Every Indian will go back home," said Partha Satpath, Indian Ambassador. Notably, on February 24, Russia declared war against Ukraine. 

Air India's AI-267 flight recieved 'water salute' when it landed on Maldives' Male airport to commemorate 46 years of air service. "Air India operated its first flight from Trivandrum to Male, in February 1976," tweeted Air India. Reportedly, when the flight was landed, Male airport officials were ready with their water cannons. Air India was formally handed over to Tata Group after 69 years of nationalisation.
