CBSE Starts Artificial Intelligence Platform To Impart AI Skills To Students

The CBSE and Intel have jointly introduced an artificial intelligence (AI) platform for students to upgrade their skills. Named as ‘AI Student Community’, the programme will help students participate in national and international AI competitions. Scientists, Historians Join Hands To Recreate Ancient European Smells

To recreate the aromas present in Europe between 16th and early 20th century, a team of researchers has announced a three-year project. The team comprising scientists and historians from across the Europe and UK is planning to develop an online encyclopedia of the European aromas. The 2.8 million euro project, named "Odeuropa", will use Artificial Intelligence to describe odours in historical texts and spot aromatic items within pictures.

IBM Bifurcates Itself To Focus On AI and Cloud Computing

Tech giant IBM on October 9 declared that the company will bifurcate itself into two public companies at a cost of $5 billion. Reportedly, the decision aims to focus on cloud computing and artificial intelligence. CEO Arvind Krishna stated that the new company, named NewCo, will have 90,000 employees and annual revenue of $19 bn while debuting the market next year. Post announcement, IBM registered a 6% rise in shares.

CT Scans Can Detect COVID-19 Using AI Algorithm: Research

According to a study published in Nature Communications, CT scan along with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm can detect COVID-19. The study revealed that this method had an accuracy of 84% in positive cases and 93% in negative cases.
