Army Displays India's First Native Machine Pistol 'ASMI'

India’s first native machine pistol ASMI was displayed at the Indian Army’s innovation exhibition on January 13. The indigenously developed gun has been built in collaboration between the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Army. Compared to the Israeli Uzi guns, ASMI can fire at a range of 100 metres. ASMI would be likely inducted to replace the 9mm pistols employed in the defence forces.
