Djokovic Backs Out From Paris Masters; Will Play in Vienna and London

World Number one Novak Djokovic has announced his withdrawal from the Paris Masters tennis event to be held in November. He stated that it would not add points to his tally. The player took the decision with an aim to remain first in the rankings, to break Roger Federer's record for most weeks as the ATP world number one. Reportedly, Djokovic will be playing Vienna Open and ATP Finals in London.

“I will see you on the court soon”, Andy Murray Exits Cologne Tournament Over Pelvic Issues

UK's Andy Murray withdrew from the ATP Cologne 2 tournament in Germany on October 19 citing a lingering pelvic problem. The 33-year-old shared the news after losing to Fernando Verdasco in the first round of the event. After two hip surgeries in 2017 and 2019, Murray faced strains since the Davis Cup tournament last November. Murray said, “I will see you on the court soon” without mentioning his return date.

Russia’s Andrey Rublev Wins St Petersburg Open; Equals Djokovic's Record

Russia's Andrey Rublev defeated Croatia's Borna Coric 7-6 (5), 6-4 in the finals to win the St.Petersburg Open title at home. Rublev has equalled Novak Djokovic's record to win four major titles in 2020. Earlier, he had won Qatar, Adelaide, and Hamburg titles this year. The win has brought him into the top 10 ATP rankings and is expected to secure a spot in the ATP finals in November this year.

ATP Elects Andy Murray As Representative For 'Player Council'

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has announced former world number one Andy Murray as one of the four representatives for the ATP's Player Council. Post Disqualification, Novak Djokovic Wins First Match in Italian Open

Novak Djokovic on September 16 defeated Salvatore Caruso in the first round of the Italian Open in Foro Italico. World number one defeated the Italian wild-card entry Caruso with a score of 6-3 6-2, finishing it off in the second round. Novak was disqualified in the US Open earlier this month. However, Djokovic vowed to be "the best version" of himself on and off the court post controversy.
