Railways Shut 107-Year-Old Billimora-Waghai Heritage Train Service

The Railway ministry has ordered for a permanent closure of the 107-year-old Gujarat’s Billimora-Waghai heritage train, calling it "uneconomic". Started in 1913 by British, 63 Km narrow gauge train service was mainly used by the tribal to carry their vegetables to Billimora. Moreover, the labourers working in chickoo and mango farms of Billimora used this. However, the service has been stopped since the Covid-19 pandemic.
