Authorities Stop Search Operations After Recovering All 8 Bodies From Garra River in UP

A day after a tractor-trolley carrying 22 passengers plunged into the Garra river, officials in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh retrieved eight remains and called off the search on August 28. 14 individuals were rescued from the river on August 27. Hardoi District Magistrate Avinash Kumar stated, "The operation has been called off. The district administration will provide an amount of ₹ 5 lakh each to the families of the victims."

Ganges Safe; No Traces Of Coronavirus: Study

A study conducted by National Mission for Clean Ganga under Jal Shakti Ministry has shown that ''none of the samples collected had traces of SARS-CoV2'' in Ganga water. Meanwhile, the samples were collected from the areas such as Kannuj, Varanasi, Buxar, Patna, etc. However, the concerns over the presence of the coronavirus have increased lately following the reports of dead bodies that were found floating in the river in UP and Bihar.
