Free Precautionary COVID-19 Doses For Eligible People: Delhi Govt

Delhi Government led by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced a free COVID-19 booster dose for people between the age group of 18-year-old to 59-year-old. The Central Government in a release said, same COVID-19 vaccine dose will be given as the "third dose" also known as "precautionary dose". On January 5, the Government said, " No mix and match will be allowed". Therefore, people who received Covishield will take same vaccine, whereas COVAXIN vaccinated people will have COVAXIN as booster dose. Delhi CM Requests Centre To Give People Booster Shots: Omicron Scare

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, on December 20, urged the Centre to give people a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, Delhi reported six new cases of COVID-19 Omicron variant, increasing the total tally to 28. ''In order to strengthen the home isolation program, a review meeting will be held on December 23,'' added CM Kejriwal. Delhi has four dedicated centers for the treatment of the variant.
