Mumbai: CGSI Study Reveals 50% of Hand Sanitizers of Poor Quality
According to a survey conducted by the Consumer Guidance Society of India (CGSI), about 50% of the 122 samples of hand sanitizers tested were of poor quality. Reportedly, the survey, conducted in Mumbai and Thane, found that 4% of the samples contained toxic methanol, posing serious side effects. Besides, 37% of the sanitizers tested were at odds with their label specifications and 10% were sold devoid of any claims.
