India Records 18,166 New Cases In 24 Hours; Hits New Low

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on October 12, stated that over 11,81,766 COVID tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Reportedly, over 58,50,38,043 tests have been conducted so far. The Health Ministry stated that in the last 24 hours, 18,166 new COVID cases were recorded, which is the lowest in over seven months. Notably, India has administered over 95.80 crore vaccine doses in total.

India Records 22,431 Fresh COVID Cases; 24 Hour Report

The Indian Council Of Medical Research stated that over 14,31,819 tests were conducted on October 6. As per data from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in the last 24 hours, India recorded 22,431 fresh cases, 24,602 recoveries and 318 deaths. Reportedly, Over 92,63,68,608 people have been vaccinated as of October 7. Also, about 57,86,57,484 tests have been conducted so far.

Japan To Donate 60 Mln COVID-19 Vaccine Doses To Asian Nation

After donating 30 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to Asian nations, Japan pledges to donate 60 million doses on September 23. Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga also confirmed the decision to double the vaccine's donation at a global summit held in the US. Vietnam, Taiwan, and Indonesia are among the beneficiary nation. So far, nearly 55 percent of Japan's population is fully vaccinated, equating to the US vaccine number.

First COVID-19 Jab Is Mandatory To Visit Public Places In Jammu

The Deputy Commissioner of Jammu on September 20 announced that the COVID-19 vaccine's first dose will be necessary for every adult in Jammu if they want to enter into any government offices and other public places. However, the decision will come into effect from October 2 onwards. Furthermore, the commissioner allowed the opening of shops and businesses until 10 PM and now 50 people can gather in Benguet hall.

After HP, Goa Administers First Dose Of Vaccine To All Adults

Goa CM Pramod Sawant on September 9 announced that the state has administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to those who are 18 years old. Sharing the achievement on Twitter, CM Sawant said, ''We are targeting to complete the second dose of vaccination by October 31.'' However, Goa has become the second state after Himachal Pradesh to inoculate the first dose of the vaccine to adults.

New Record: India Administers One Crore Vaccines Every Day

In connection to COVID vaccines, India has set a new benchmark by inoculating one crore vaccines every day for nearly a week to its citizens. Currently, the amount of vaccine India is administering every day "is more than the entire population of many countries." Meanwhile, PM Modi also praises Himachal Pradesh to become the first Indian state to administer the 'first dose' of the vaccine to all adults.

Pregnant Women Must Take COVID-19 Vaccines: NITI Aayog

During a press briefing, NITI Aayog's Member Dr. V.K Paul on September 2 said that every pregnant woman should receive both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine to avoid the adverse effects of infection. Given the upcoming festive season, Paul said, ''Celebrate festivals at home and avoid going outside. Mask is must for all even after both doses.''  Reportedly, 54% of adults have received the first dose of the vaccine.

First State To Achieve 100% COVID-19 Vaccination Of First Dose: HP

Himachal Pradesh has become the first Indian state in India to achieve 100% vaccination of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine for people aged above 18. Sharing the achievement on August 28, State Health Minister, Dr. Rajiv Saizal said, ''We aim to complete the 100% vaccination of both the doses by November 30.'' PM Narendra Modi also said, ''The state has been doing well from the beginning".

Still Not Clear If Indians Need Booster Jabs: AIIMS Director

Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director of AIIMS in Delhi notified that India does not have enough data to state whether booster jabs are necessary for its citizens against Covid-19. He further said, “Information is still emerging... it will take some more months.” Reportedly, the booster shot helps to increase the antibodies.  However, the WHO didn't recommend the booster jabs and also termed it a ''mockery'' of rich countries.

Police Arrest 6 For Producing 250 Fake Vaccination Certificates

Salaya Police have arrested six-person, including health staff and travel agents who were allegedly involved in providing 250 fake vaccination certificates over six months for travel purposes. An FIR was registered with the police station at Gujarat’s Dwarka on August 14 by Jamkh-ambaliya taluka health officer Dr Mehulbhai Jethwa. “A health worker, a case writer, and a peon” were also involved.
