Shikara Overturns In Jammu And Kashmir's Dal Lake During BJP's Rally
A Shikara (wooden boat) used by BJP members for election campaigning had overturned on December 13 in Jammu and Kashmir's Dal Lake. Reportedly, four BJP leaders and several cameramen fell into the water and were later rescued by the locals and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). The party's unique shikara rally had been led by Union Minister Anurag Thakur for the Kashmir District Development Council elections.

J&K DDC Elections Register 50% Voter Turnout In Third Phase
The third phase of J&K District Development Council elections was conducted successfully on December 4, registering a 50.5% voter turnout. While Pulwama recorded the lowest participation with 10.8%, Reasi in Jammu stood tallest with 75.2% voter turnout.
