Uttrakhand's Records Highest Women MLA This Year

Uttrakhand had a rise in female-majority in the state legislative assembly with up to eight women in the 70 members assembly. All the parties had their respective number of female candidates including BJP with eight women, Congress with seven, AAP had six and three from Samajwadi Party. Also, this year female voter turnout also was 4.06% higher than men in the recently concluded Uttarakhand Assembly election, which the BJP won.

Section 144 Imposed In Chamoli, Ahead Of Uttarakhand Assembly Polls

The Uttrakhand Magistrate imposed section 144 of the CrPC, in Chamoli district of the State. On January 10, District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana said, section 144, restricting public gathering of five and more have been imposed, aiming peace in the region, ahead of the Uttrakhand Assembly polls, scheduled on February 14. Uttarakhand Govt Likely To Impose Night Curfew Amid Omicron Scare

Uttarakhand government is likely to impose night curfew in the state to tackle the rising number of COVID-19 Omicron cases in the state. Reportedly, a high-level meeting was also conducted in this regard on the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary on December 23. Earlier, the state recorded its first case of the Omicron variant in Dehradun on December 22.

PM Modi Expresses Grief On BJP MLA Harbans Kappor's Death: Uttarakhand

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 13 took to Twitter to condole the death of veteran BJP MLA Harnbans Kapoor. He was 75 and died at his residence in Dehradun. Kapoor was an eight-time MLA from the Dehradun constituency and one of the seniormost members of the State Assembly. ''A veteran legislator and administrator, he'll be remembered for his contributions to public service and social welfare,'' tweeted PM Modi.

PM Modi To Begin BJP's Poll Campaign For Uttarakhand Election

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Uttarkhand's Dehradun to inaugurate and lay the foundation for projects worth Rs 18,000 on December 4 between 1:30 to 1:35 PM. Furthermore, PM Modi will address a gathering of nearly one lakh people to kick off the Bhartiya Janta Party's (BJP) campaign for the next state assembly election. Reportedly, BJP has aimed to win over 60 constituencies out of 70.

PM Modi To Visit Uttarakhand To Lay Foundation Stone Of 11 Projects

PM Narendra Modi will visit Uttarakhand's Dehradun on December 4 to lay foundation stones of 11 development projects worth Rs 18,000 crores. During the tour, he'll also inaugurate the ambitious Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, several road projects, and a 340-m tunnel near Dat Kaali temple. Most of the inauguration projects mainly focus on travel and tourism, road safety, water supply, and infrastructure of Dehradun.

PM Modi To Visit Dehradun In Early Dec, Says Uttarakhand CM

Ahead of the upcoming Uttarakhand assembly election, Prime Minister Narender Modi is set to visit Dehradun on December 4. The date was revealed by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami after meeting with the BJP National President JP Nadda in Delhi. During the visit, PM Modi will unveil ''a lot of works'' that have been concluded. ''We're expecting a massive crowd given the PM's fondness for Uttarkhand,'' said CM Dhami.

Buring Grabage, Plastic In Open Will Cost You 5K In Dehradun

The Dehradun administration announced that it would impose a fine of Rs 5,000 on burning plastic or garbage in the open areas, in order to improve the air quality. It has also been ordered by the District Magistrate to the Municipal Corporations and concerned authorities to make challan against those who don't follow the rules. "I've directed for strict action," R Rajesh Kumar, District Magistrate, told to ANI.
