Delhi Reports 5,481 New COVID Cases, Highest Since May

Delhi continues to witness a rise in COVID-19 cases with 5,481 new cases, with a 8.37% positivity rate. Cases were confirmed after 65,487 tests. In addition, the national capital reported 3 deaths and 1,575 recoveries. Reportedly, this is the highest number of cases, reported since May 2021. With this, Delhi has 14,889 active cases. Furthermore, a total of 8,593 people are under home isolation and the rest are in hospital.

Delhi: Gangrape Victim From UP's Hathras District Dies At Hospital

A 20-year-old Dalit woman from Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district died in Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital, on September 28, due to multiple injuries. She had been gang-raped on September 14, by four upper-caste men in her village. She was shifted to ICU in critical condition with multiple fractures and her tongue cut. Her family has accused UP Police of not taking action against the perpetrators.
