Global Hunger Index 2020: India Ranks 94 Out Of 107, Placed Under 'Serious' Category

India ranked 94th among 107 countries in the Global Hunger Index 2020, showing a slight improvement from its 2019 rank of 102 from 117 countries. While the world hunger was termed as ‘moderate’, the GHI categorised India’s score (27.2 out of 50) as ‘serious'. However, the child stunting rate in South Asia is still high, for which GHI held deprivation of food, education and poverty as major factors.
